Welcome Daehangno is a festival hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and jointly organized by the Korea Tourism Organization, the Korea Performing Arts Tourism Association, and Jongno District Office. It started in 2017 to attract foreign tourists through the charm of K-performances.

The event consists of a total of seven programs. The official participating works increased by 17 from last year to 37. The opening ceremony will be held on October 15, featuring various genres such as musicals, plays, and non-verbal performances, along with flash mobs and celebratory performances for participants to enjoy together.

Thirty-four works participate in the offline program 'Theater,' which introduces K-performances. The participating works will be intensively promoted both online and offline, with discount benefits provided.

In the online performance program 'K-Stage,' six works will be streamed for free in five languages via YouTube, Naver TV, and MaPengWo from 6 PM to midnight Korea time on October 16?18 and October 23?25.

Newly added this year, the 'Theater Market' is a business-to-business (B2B) consultation meeting for the commercialization of performing arts tourism products, held from October 14 to 15.

About 100 people, including production companies and distributors participating in Theater, travel agencies, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) related organizations, will gather in one place to continue networking under the theme of commercializing performing arts tourism linked to K-performances.

Additionally, during the festival period, audiences can enjoy free outdoor performances on weekends and holidays through 'Fringe,' and explore tour courses composed of Daehangno’s tourist attractions and experiences through the 'Daehangno Tour.'

The closing ceremony will feature 12 performances, including an awards ceremony.

Jo Hee-jin, head of the Hallyu Contents Office at the Korea Tourism Organization, said, "As we have expanded the programs and participating performances to enhance the quality of the festival for everyone to enjoy the K-performing arts tourism festival, we hope many people will visit Daehangno during the festival period and enjoy the festival."
