Hampyeong-gun Achieves Success by Being Selected for Livestock Odor Improvement Contest Project
Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 8th that it has been selected for the '2024 Livestock Odor Improvement Project' led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, securing a project budget of 700 million KRW.
The Livestock Odor Improvement Project aims to reduce odors from livestock facilities and properly treat livestock manure through purification facilities.
The main project contents include a liquid fertilizer circulation system to reduce livestock odor, purification discharge facilities to improve manure treatment methods, and support for solid-liquid separators to activate agricultural-livestock recycling.
This year, 55 cities and counties from 13 metropolitan cities and provinces applied, and priority project operators were selected through document screening and on-site evaluation, with Hampyeong-gun being selected and securing a project budget of 700 million KRW.
The county plans to focus on odor reduction facilities such as purification discharge systems and liquid fertilizer circulation systems targeting pig farms in the region.

County Governor Lee Sang-ik said, "With the selection for this public contest project, it is expected that the self-purification treatment rate of pig farms will increase, improving the odor reduction effect," and added, "We will do our best to foster a nature-friendly livestock industry that coexists with the residents."
