An official from Seongju-gun said, “Even if the tents are long-term, it is quite difficult to crack down and dismantle them if the owners cannot be identified. However, since June, we have conducted intensive crackdowns and dismantled 20 illegally occupied tents that were pitched year-round and used like villas. We conduct crackdowns at least once a week to prevent tents from being pitched here again, and in the long term, we plan to plant trees to eliminate spaces where tents can be pitched.”
Seongju-gun frequently dispatches teams to dismantle illegally installed tents, persuades the owners, and installs banners at the sites of dismantled tents to prevent additional installations. For tourists who wish to rest, enjoy summer resorts, and appreciate the natural scenery on the same day, temporary cooking areas and restrooms will be installed and operated.
