Doosan Enerbility to Supply Eco-Friendly Power Generation Including Ammonia Co-Firing in Indonesia
Doosan Enerbility is promoting the supply of eco-friendly power generation technologies, including ammonia co-firing, to Indonesia.
Doosan Enerbility announced on the 8th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for joint cooperation on the transition to eco-friendly power plants to reduce power plant emissions with Indonesia Power Company.
On the 7th (local time), Doosan Enerbility signed a joint cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Indonesia Power at the 'Korea-Indonesia Business Round Table' held in Jakarta, Indonesia, for the transition to eco-friendly power plants to reduce emissions from Indonesian power plants. They also signed an MOU with IRT for the joint development of a green ammonia supply chain for Jawa Units 9 and 10 power plants. View original imageThe two companies will establish a comprehensive cooperative relationship for the introduction of eco-friendly technologies at the Suralaya power plant currently operating locally. Indonesia Power Company is a power generation subsidiary of the Indonesian Electricity Authority and is the largest power supplier in Indonesia, responsible for supplying more than 20GW of electricity. The signing ceremony took place on the 7th in Jakarta, Indonesia, during the 'Korea-Indonesia Business Round Table.'
Additionally, Doosan Enerbility signed an MOU with IRT (PT. Indo Raya Tenaga) for the joint development of a green ammonia supply chain for the Jawa 9 and 10 power plants. IRT is a special purpose company jointly invested by Indonesia Power Company, Barito Pacific Group, a power generation and petrochemical specialist, and Korea Electric Power Corporation.
The Jawa 9 and 10 power plants are being constructed in the Cilegon area of western Java Island, approximately 120 km from Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.

Jung Yeon-in, President of Doosan Enerbility, said, "Various carbon-neutral solutions such as ammonia co-firing, hydrogen turbines, and liquefied hydrogen plants will be effective alternatives to Indonesia's carbon reduction goals," adding, "We look forward to active exchanges regarding carbon reduction power generation projects to be promoted in Indonesia."
