Animal Disease Prediction and Logistics Cost Reduction... Collaboration with LG and Validation of Startup Commercialization Achievements (Comprehensive)
Superstart Day 2023
Startups Discovered and Nurtured Directly by LG
Ujuracompany, a startup developing a platform that predicts diseases in companion animals, is one of the startups discovered and nurtured directly by LG over the past year, achieving notable results. This year, 200 LG employees who own companion animals voluntarily participated in the commercialization verification process, enabling Ujuracompany to secure detailed companion animal data that was previously difficult to collect. This led to the verification of technology predicting diseases in LG employees' companion animals. Ujuracompany is currently discussing collaboration plans to enhance various departments and businesses within LG affiliates.
WeMeetMobility, a startup providing AI solutions related to optimal logistics, dispatch, and routing, also achieved technological verification results through collaboration with LG. By simulating using LG Electronics' home appliance delivery and installation data, they confirmed an actual reduction in total vehicle travel time and distance. This commercialization verification has provided opportunities to collaborate with companies across various industrial sectors.
LG is hosting the open innovation event, Superstart Day 2023, over two days on the 7th and 8th at LG Science Park in Magok, Seoul. Superstart Day is an annual event held since 2018 at LG Science Park in Magok to discover and support promising startups. Forty startups from fields including artificial intelligence (A), bio (B), cleantech (C), as well as materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang), and lifestyle participated.
This year, nine startups directly discovered and nurtured by LG shared their collaborative achievements over the past year. Key examples include ‘Ujuracompany,’ which develops solutions to predict diseases in dogs and cats based on animal behavior data; ‘WeMeetMobility,’ which provides AI solutions related to optimal logistics dispatch and routing; and ‘MesaPlanet,’ which possesses technology to analyze satellite imagery.
