Next Runner Identified as Sister City 'Gwangju Nam-gu'
Lee Byeong-no, the mayor of Damyang County, participated in the ‘Hometown Love Donation Certification Challenge’ to ensure the successful establishment of the Hometown Love Donation System and to promote a culture of giving.
According to the county on the 7th, the Hometown Love Donation Certification Challenge began with National Assembly member Han Byung-do, who spearheaded the Hometown Love Donation Act, and proceeds by having the nominated donation certifier participate in the challenge and then nominate the next participant.
Mayor Lee joined the challenge upon being nominated by Seo Cheol-mo, the head of Daejeon Seo District Office, and he nominated Kim Byeong-nae, the head of Nam District Office in Gwangju, a sister city, as the next participant.
Mayor Lee Byeong-no said, “There are still many people who do not know about the Hometown Love Donation System,” and added, “I hope that with more people’s interest, the system will become more active.”
Earlier, Mayor Lee supported the successful establishment of the donation system by sending hometown love donations to six sister cities (Dalseong County in Daegu, Seongbuk District in Seoul, Yongsan District in Seoul, Seo District in Daejeon, Gyeryong City in Chungnam, and Jecheon City in Chungbuk).
