Yangcheon-gu to Distribute 11.4 Billion Won in 'Yangcheon Love Gift Certificates' with 7% Discount for Chuseok
80 Billion Won at 11 AM on the 14th, 3.4 Billion on the 21st... Up to 500,000 Won Can Be Held, Usable at 11,280 Franchise Stores
Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that it will issue a total of 11.4 billion KRW worth of ‘Yangcheon Love Gift Certificates’ in two rounds starting at 11 a.m. on September 14 and 21 to ease the burden of shopping amid high inflation during the Chuseok holiday and to revitalize the local commercial district.
The district will issue 8 billion KRW on September 14 and 3.4 billion KRW on September 21, spaced one week apart, to allow more residents to smoothly purchase the gift certificates.
The gift certificates can be purchased at a 7% discount through five applications: ▲Seoul Pay Plus ▲Shinhan pLay ▲Shinhan SOL ▲T-money Pay ▲Money Tree. The monthly discounted purchase limit per person is 500,000 KRW, with a maximum holding limit of 1.5 million KRW, and they must be used within five years from the date of issuance.
The gift certificates can be used at 11,280 Seoul Pay Plus affiliated stores including academies, pharmacies, convenience stores, restaurants, and markets. However, usage is restricted to small business affiliated stores and is prohibited at entertainment and gambling businesses, directly operated franchise stores of large and medium-sized enterprises, and entrance exam academies with annual sales exceeding 1 billion KRW.
In January, the district issued 9 billion KRW worth of Yangcheon Love Gift Certificates, which sold out in just four minutes, recording over 15,000 purchase transactions.
