Late Chairman Shin Kyuk-ho's Granddaughter to Lead Lotte Samdong Welfare Foundation
Appointed at the Board Meeting on the 17th of Last Month
Jang Hye-seon, granddaughter of the late Shin Kyuk-ho, Honorary Chairman of Lotte Group, has been appointed as the new CEO of the Lotte Samdong Welfare Foundation.
According to industry sources on the 6th, the board of directors of the Lotte Samdong Welfare Foundation appointed Jang as the new CEO on the 17th of last month. Jang is the daughter of Shin Young-ja, former chairman of the Lotte Scholarship Foundation and eldest daughter of the late Honorary Chairman Shin. The Lotte Samdong Welfare Foundation was established in 2009 by Honorary Chairman Shin to contribute to the development of his hometown, Ulsan.
Jang, appointed as the new CEO, began her career as CEO of MJ Ad in 1995, then served as CEO of MJ Distribution in 2001, and CEO of MJ Think in 2002. After 2005, she did not engage in any notable activities until July of last year, when she was appointed as a director of the Lotte Scholarship Foundation, succeeding her mother, former chairman Shin.

Former chairman Shin had served not only as chairman of the Lotte Scholarship Foundation but also as chairman of the Lotte Welfare Foundation and the Lotte Samdong Welfare Foundation, before stepping down in 2018.
