Chairman Ryu Jin's Greeting on Appointment to Over 40 Overseas Networks of the Federation of Korean Industries
Ryu Jin, who was inaugurated as the 39th Chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI), urged global partners to closely cooperate with the Korean business community through a letter of greeting.
On the 6th, FKI announced that Chairman Ryu sent letters of greeting to over 40 partners from major countries and international organizations worldwide. The letter included his inauguration greetings, a call for joint responses to protectionist trade and industrial policies in the global economy, a commitment to enhancing Korea's global role, and an emphasis on continuous partnership with the Korean business sector.
In the letter sent to the United States, Chairman Ryu proposed the establishment of a "Korea-US-Japan Trilateral Business Council" as a measure to concretize the discussions held at the Korea-US-Japan summit last month. Recognizing the necessity of economic cooperation in areas such as forming global standards for advanced technologies, supply chain collaboration for key materials and components like semiconductors and batteries, and expanding cooperation into advanced industries such as AI, Korea aims to lead the institutionalization of trilateral economic cooperation among the three countries. In the letter sent to Japan, he emphasized continuous bilateral cooperation and joint business projects by the business communities to maintain a forward-looking Korea-Japan relationship.
Following Chairman Ryu's letters, responses have been arriving from major countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, China, and Japan. Masakazu Tokura, Chairman of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), sent his personal congratulations, and Octavio Simoes, the U.S. co-chair of the Korea-US Business Council, stated in his letter, “Chairman Ryu’s appointment comes at a critical juncture in Korea-US relations. Under new leadership, we look forward to the development of economic and business relations between the two countries.”
