Yangcheon-gu Hosts 'Second Half Urban Maintenance Project Knowledge Forum'
From September 14 to October 19, four sessions held at Haenuri Hall, Haenuri Town, with 200 participants per session; enrollment open until September 12... Lecture topics selected based on survey results including high demand for construction cost verification and comparative analysis of maintenance projects
Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that it will operate the ‘Second Half Yangcheon-gu Urban Maintenance Project Knowledge Forum,’ where top instructors explain specialized knowledge in an easy-to-understand manner, for union executives and residents from September 14 to October 19 at Haenuri Hall in Haenuri Town to strengthen the capacity for promoting urban maintenance projects.
Currently, there are about 60 maintenance projects underway in Yangcheon-gu, including the reconstruction of Mokdong Apartments, redevelopment, and street housing maintenance projects. There has been a steady demand for establishing a formal education curriculum on urban maintenance projects to ensure swift progress and prevent unnecessary conflicts. Accordingly, the district started operating the knowledge forum from the first half of the year and, based on survey results from attendees, carefully selected the most in-demand educational topics and instructors, such as construction cost verification and union management, to launch the second half forum.
This forum will be held over four sessions from September 14 to October 19. The lecture topics are ▲ Construction Cost Verification System for Maintenance Projects (9/14) ▲ Inspection and Precautions for Union Management (9/21) ▲ Comparison and Analysis of Maintenance Project Methods (10/12) ▲ Guidelines for Selecting Construction Companies after Union Establishment Approval (10/19), with experts from the Korea Real Estate Board, urban maintenance project consultants, and other fields serving as instructors.
Union executives involved in urban maintenance projects and any interested residents can attend, with each session accommodating 200 participants and lasting about two hours. To encourage broad participation, the district adjusted the forum time to 7 p.m. after work hours and plans to upload lecture videos later on Yangcheon-gu’s official YouTube channel, ‘YangcheonTV,’ for residents who find it difficult to attend in person. Residents wishing to enroll can register on a first-come, first-served basis via QR code or by emailing the person in charge by September 12.
During the first half forum held in April and May, about 1,600 people attended eight sessions, more than double the capacity, demonstrating strong enthusiasm for promoting maintenance projects. Among them, about 180 participants who attended six or more sessions received certificates of completion and the ‘Yangcheon-gu Urban Maintenance Project Guidebook.’
The majority of attendees (77%) were related to reconstruction and redevelopment, with more than half of the participants coming from the Mokdong area. The highest satisfaction was reported for lectures on sales applications and management disposition plans, and there was particularly high demand for special lectures on construction cost calculation and disputes, which are hot topics in the maintenance industry.
