Shin Young-kyun, Director of Wando Social Community Support Center, Reflects on the '1st Anniversary of Establishment'
"Solving Community Issues Through Field-Centered Consulting"
Shin Young-gyun, director of the Wando Social Community Support Center, expressed on the 5th that the center is recognized as an institution that has successfully served as a bridge between local administration and residents.
Marking the center's first anniversary, Director Shin stated, "Thanks to the interest and support of local residents, the Community Support Center has established a foundation for village communities pursuing a happy life for residents and the revitalization of the social economy," adding, "We have taken the lead in solving community issues by providing on-site, visiting consulting services."

View original imageHe continued, "This year, to create safe villages, we have conducted customized consulting to enable agreements between the police station and village residents, and we are currently promoting 22 sites through public projects," explaining, "One preliminary village enterprise has also been selected."
Established under the 'Wando-gun Ordinance on the Promotion and Support of the Social Economy,' the Wando-gun Social Community Support Center supports social economy enterprises and village communities such as △ social enterprises △ village enterprises △ cooperatives △ self-support enterprises.
Additionally, based on cooperation and mutual aid among members, the center has contributed to regional economic development since its establishment to create social value.
Director Shin Young-gyun said, "Based on the experience of the past year, we plan to select one village as a pilot area to create conditions for integrated and multifaceted operations in crime prevention, medical care, caregiving, and jobs," adding, "There is an urgent need to establish a community research institute centered on village autonomy associations to strengthen residents' capabilities."
He also added, "Going forward, we will continue to create warm village communities through visiting consulting, focus on establishing a sustainable social economy ecosystem, and devote ourselves to the center’s core tasks to develop a successful model."
Born in Gogeum-myeon, Wando, Director Shin Young-gyun began his public service career in December 1986 as a Grade 9 administrative officer at Sinji-myeon Office and served as director of the Wando-gun Regional Economy Bureau. With 35 years of public service experience at the Prime Minister’s Office, Jeollanam-do Provincial Government, and Wando-gun, he is known as a master of administration based on his diverse experience.
