Full Disclosure... Gyeongnam Province, First Local Government to Live Stream 'Seafood Radioactivity Testing' on YouTube
Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at 5 PM on 'Gyeongnam TV'
Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 5th that it will be the first local government in the country to live broadcast radioactive testing of seafood starting from the 6th.
From this day forward, on the first and third Wednesday of every month at 5 p.m., the radioactive testing of seafood at the production stage conducted by the Fisheries Safety Management Center of the Fisheries Safety Technology Institute will be disclosed through the province's official YouTube channel, ‘Gyeongnam TV’.
Previously, the citizen-participation seafood radioactive testing, which began in June, was expanded from once a month to four times a month starting in September, and will be live broadcast every two weeks.

The time-consuming processes of sample collection, pretreatment, and instrument analysis during radioactive testing will be filmed step-by-step on the day of the broadcast, edited, and released about 5 to 10 minutes before the scheduled broadcast time.
From the moment the final test results are available, the broadcast will switch to live streaming, providing a 5 to 10-minute segment for announcing the pass/fail judgment and other results.
The province explained that, amid growing public concerns related to the discharge of radioactive contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan, it decided to live broadcast on YouTube for the first time among local governments nationwide to secure public trust in seafood safety and strengthen communication through information sharing.
The YouTube broadcast dates for this year are ▲September 6 and 20 ▲October 4 and 18 ▲November 1 and 15 ▲December 6 and 20.
Detailed information about the live YouTube broadcast of seafood radioactive testing can be found on the province’s website and the official YouTube channel Gyeongnam TV.
