Chungjang-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju, Talent Sharing 'Cheongchun Beauty Salon' Popular
Chungjang-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City recently announced on the 5th that it operated a hairdressing volunteer service called ‘Cheongchun Beauty Salon’ for local senior citizens.
‘Cheongchun Beauty Salon’ is held every two months on a bimonthly basis through the talent sharing of two members belonging to the Hope Sharing Practice Group (Kang Sook-hee Beauty Salon, Park Soon-ui Mi Hair Point), with about 15 seniors participating in each event.
In addition to hairdressing, the service includes checking on the seniors’ well-being, listening to their difficulties, providing health guidelines, and offering companionship, which has been well received by seniors who are financially constrained.
One senior who used the service said, “With prices rising these days, the cost of a haircut is a significant expense,” and added, “I hope that hairdressing volunteer services for us elderly people will continue in the future.”
