Sunchon National University and Jibon Cosmetic Sign Technology Transfer Agreement for 'Natural Whitening Composition'
Technology Transfer by Professor Lee Mina's Pharmaceutical Research Team
Leading Regional Economic Revitalization through Cosmetic Commercialization
Suncheon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced on the 5th that it signed a technology transfer agreement with Jibon Cosmetic (CEO Park Sang-yong) on August 31.
The technology being transferred through this agreement is a "whitening composition using anti-inflammatory activity and natural materials," developed by the research team of Professor Lee Min-ah from the Department of Pharmacy.
Jibon Cosmetic Co., Ltd., which received the technology transfer, is a company located in Suncheon City and is a promising local company that has achieved sales growth to the 10 billion KRW level, starting with the development and sale of the country's first alcohol-based hand cleansing moisturizer.
Park Sang-yong, CEO of Jibon Cosmetic Co., Ltd., said, "We plan to devote ourselves to development so that we can introduce various functional cosmetics using natural resources," adding, "By utilizing Jeonnam's natural resources, we will take the lead in creating local jobs and revitalizing the regional economy."
Yeo Hyun, Director of Industry-Academia Cooperation at Suncheon National University, said, "Once the technology is commercialized, it is expected to activate the food industry for preventing or improving inflammation and various functional cosmetics industries using domestic natural resources," and added, "We will continue to focus on discovering promising technologies and strengthening the core growth engines of local companies through steady research support."
