Attending the site visit were Park Dae-woo, Acting Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, as well as officials from Gangseo-gu and the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
Hwagog 1-dong is a low-rise residential area developed through a land readjustment project in the 1960s, where residents have consistently requested housing maintenance projects due to the deteriorated residential environment.
Demonstrating the local residents' high expectations for Moa Town, about 400 residents gathered during the site visit, showing great interest.
On that day, Acting Mayor Park and Mayor Oh started from Kkachi Children's Park at 4 p.m. and toured the alleys of the target area.
They directly confirmed the current state of Hwagog-dong's residential environment, including narrow roads without clear separation between sidewalks and roadways, parking lots, and poor infrastructure such as parks.
Acting Mayor Park Dae-woo said, "We will gradually review the Moa Town management plan to improve the aging residential environment," and added, "We will do our utmost to promote housing maintenance projects so that the Moa Town project can be successfully carried out."
Moa Town is a maintenance project that bundles low-rise residential areas, where large-scale redevelopment is difficult, into blocks for development, and the success of the project depends on the consent rate of housing owners.
