View original imageFor three days, the city operated the Hometown Love Donation Program promotional booth at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 2, providing visitors with information on how to donate, the benefits of the program, and displaying Pohang’s unique thank-you gifts.
In addition, a tasting event featuring wine and beverages selected as thank-you gifts was held, and on-site donors were given additional gifts such as Steelers signed balls, dried squid sets, and Pohang rice, which received great responses from visitors.
Baek Seong-ho, General Affairs Saemaul Division Chief, said, “We hope that the Hometown Love Donation Program, which was implemented for the first time this year, will successfully settle and play a significant role in revitalizing the local economy,” adding, “We will do our best to create a sustainable donation culture through Pohang’s unique thank-you gifts and the discovery of innovative fund projects.”

The Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 5 million KRW annually to local governments other than their registered address. Donations up to 100,000 KRW are fully tax-deductible, and for amounts exceeding 100,000 KRW, a 16.5% tax credit is applied. Donors can also receive thank-you gifts such as local specialties worth up to 30% of the donation amount.
