On the 1st, Korea University Medical Center announced on the 4th that it received a donation of 10 million KRW from Emeritus Professor Eun-Il Lee at the Medical Center Headquarters in Jeongneung Mediscience Park, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. With this, the total amount donated by Professor Lee has surpassed 100 million KRW.
To commemorate this, the Medical Center held a donation ceremony for the cumulative 100 million KRW on the 1st. Attendees included Professor Lee, his spouse Kyung Kim, Korea University Vice President for Medical Affairs Eulsik Yoon, and Director of Medical Planning Hoseong Son. The funds donated by Professor Lee will be used for research and education at the College of Medicine and the Graduate School of Public Health.
The Medical Center explained that Professor Lee is an authority in the field of environmental health and has played a significant role in the development of occupational medicine. He has served as Director of Medical Planning and Dean of the Graduate School of Public Health, contributing to the advancement of the university and the training of future scholars. After his retirement in February, he began a second chapter of his career in the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Ansan Hospital. Including this donation, the total funds he has contributed since 1994 amount to approximately 106 million KRW.
Professor Lee said, "Every time I see the school and medical center, where I spent precious time with colleagues and seniors and juniors, developing, I feel deeply moved. I will never forget my love for Korea University Medical Center, my spiritual home."
