Suwon City to Install Emergency Evacuation Facilities in Underpasses
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will install emergency escape handrails and ladders in underground passages with a high risk of flooding to prepare for sudden flooding incidents.
On the 31st, Suwon City announced that in September, it plans to install emergency escape handrails (total length of 1,520 meters) and ladders (16 locations) in four underground passages: Hwasan Underground Passage, Jangan Underground Passage, Gosaek Underground Passage, and Maeyeoul Underground Passage.
In the event of flooding caused by unpredictable heavy rain, vehicle drivers can hold onto the handrails installed on the walls of the underground passages and move to the nearest emergency ladder to climb up and evacuate outside the underground passage.
