Umi Hope Foundation Hosts 2023 Basic Sports Summer Camp
Umi Hope Foundation announced on the 30th that, together with the Korea Paralympic Committee, it held the 2023 Basic Sports Summer Camp program, 'Umi Jump Up,' at the Icheon Training Center from the 23rd to the 29th.
This event is designed for promising disabled athletes in their teens and twenties to experience various sports in summer Paralympic disciplines. Through professional physical fitness assessments, sports science support, and career exploration, the program aims not only to spark interest in disabled sports but also to help participants find the sports best suited to them.
A total of 36 participants attended the camp. The Grand Prize was awarded to Yoon Pyeongwon (25, Daejeon Metropolitan City), and the Excellence Award went to eight athletes including Yoo Hyunwoo (17, Gyeonggi-do). Scholarship funds and support from coaches in their desired sports will be provided to the awardees.
