Yangcheon-gu, Mokdong Rodeo Street Startup 'Youth Store' Recruitment... Up to 22 Million KRW Support
Recruiting young residents aged 19-39 who wish to start a store on Mokdong Rodeo Street by September 8... Up to 10 million KRW for remodeling costs and up to 1 million KRW monthly rent support for 1 year
Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) is promoting the ‘Youth Store Development Project’ to resolve youth unemployment and revitalize the stagnant local commercial district, and is recruiting young entrepreneurs until September 8.
The ‘Youth Store Development Project’ supports part of the initial startup funds such as rent and remodeling costs for young people who wish to start a new business, nurturing them into ‘core stores (anchor stores)’ that attract customers.
Since its first operation in 2019, the district has supported 16 youth stores with remodeling costs and rent totaling over 200 million KRW, helping startups in various industries such as restaurants, pet food shops, flower shops, vegan dessert specialty stores, studios, and side dish shops.
The recruitment target this time is young residents aged 19 to 39 who wish to start a store in the Mokdong Rodeo Street commercial district. The district plans to select a total of two teams in October through document and interview evaluations. To diversify the customer base of the existing shopping district, which mainly focuses on sportswear, Mokdong Rodeo Street was selected as the project site to foster MZ generation-customized ‘core stores (anchor stores).’
The district provides ‘1:1 startup consulting’ services, including three weeks of basic startup education such as commercial district analysis and marketing, and startup design counseling to young entrepreneurs who pass the first document screening. Based on this, a second business plan presentation evaluation will be conducted to comprehensively assess startup competitiveness and readiness (completeness) to select the final successful candidates.
The finally selected young entrepreneurs will receive support of up to 10 million KRW within 50% of remodeling costs for the store, and up to 1 million KRW per month within 50% of the monthly rent for one year from the agreement date.
Youth wishing to start a business in Mokdong Rodeo Street can check the required documents on the district office website’s notice or public announcement board, fill them out, and apply by email to the person in charge by the 8th of next month.
