Enhancing Unification Capabilities through Institutionalization of Comprehensive Korea-US-Japan Cooperation
Communist and Follower Forces Will Not Cease Agitation
President Yoon Suk-yeol stated on the 29th, "If we become a global pivotal state that greatly contributes to the freedom, peace, and prosperity of Northeast Asia, the Indo-Pacific region, and all of humanity based on universal values, not only will our unification capabilities increase, but the world will also support our unification."
On the same day, President Yoon made these remarks during the 'Unification Dialogue with Executive Members of the 21st Democratic Peace Unification Advisory Council' held at the Blue House State Guest House, saying, "The Democratic Peace Unification Advisory Council is a constitutional institution that unites the national capabilities and will to realize peaceful unification based on liberal democracy."
President Yoon emphasized that unification capabilities will be enhanced by referring to the institutionalization of the comprehensive trilateral cooperation system announced at the Korea-US-Japan summit held at Camp David, USA, on the 18th.
He said, "The three countries of Korea, the US, and Japan have agreed to demonstrate joint leadership and a sense of responsibility to turn the complex crises and challenges in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond into opportunities," adding, "The interests of the three countries are not exclusive. They are universal and just. The trilateral cooperation system will contribute to the freedom, peace, and prosperity of all humanity, greatly enhancing our unification capabilities and gaining international support for our unification."
He continued, "The joint statement of the three countries, known as the principles and spirit of Camp David, clearly states that the US and Japan support Korea's unification based on liberal democracy," and added, "This is the first time in history that the Korea-US-Japan joint declaration has mentioned and expressed support for Korea's unification based on liberal democracy."
He repeatedly emphasized vigilance against forces that hinder unification based on liberal democracy, such as communism. President Yoon pointed out, "In this divided reality where liberal democracy confronts communist totalitarianism, communist totalitarian forces, their blind followers, and opportunistic adherents engage in psychological warfare to disrupt free societies through false fabrication, propaganda, and agitation, and they will never stop. This is precisely the survival method of communist totalitarianism."
He particularly stressed, "Because it is difficult for communist totalitarianism, based on fraudulent ideology, to survive when neighboring liberal democratic countries develop," and added, "In this reality, your role is more important than ever to protect liberal democracy, develop into a global pivotal state, and strengthen our unification capabilities."
Furthermore, he urged, "Dear members, I hope that you, active across the country and around the world, will hold a firm belief in liberal democracy and become pioneers of free unification."
