Nakdonggang Regional Environmental Office to Inspect Odor Emission Facilities Using Advanced Equipment
Emission Facilities in Odor Control Area of Gimhae Region
Monitoring Using Optical Gas Imaging Cameras and More
The Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office plans to inspect odor-emitting facilities within the odor management areas in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, throughout September.
There are a total of 11 designated odor management areas within the jurisdiction of the Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office, covering Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions.
The special inspection targets areas such as Bonsan-ri, Bugok, and Yuha-dong in Gimhae City, where various emission sources like adhesive and gelatin manufacturing plants are located close to residential areas, necessitating focused odor management especially after the summer vacation period.
This inspection will primarily focus on the odor management status of odor-emitting facilities reported near residential areas.
In particular, advanced equipment recently introduced, such as optical gas imaging cameras, will be used to visually identify gas leak points, and the operation status of prevention facilities aimed at reducing odor emissions, as well as neglect of corrosion and wear, will be checked.
