A university student who posted a murder threat on a university online community surrendered to the police.
On the 29th, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that they have booked and are investigating an 18-year-old university student, A, on charges including threats.
At around 3 p.m. the previous day, A posted a message on Andong University’s online community saying, "I will stab someone when the semester starts, do not come to school." The Cyber Investigation Unit of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency launched an investigation, including tracing the IP address of the author.
On the morning of the same day, A surrendered at the Seocho Police Station near his residence, and during the police investigation, he reportedly stated, "I wanted to get attention."
