Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Soon-hee) is recruiting the 24th batch of students to participate in the high-quality lifelong learning program for residents, "Dasan (茶山) Thought in Daily Life."
The education schedule consists of a total 11-week course, including 10 lectures held every Thursday starting September 7 at Seoul Cyber University and one field trip to experience the life of Jeong Yak-yong (Dasan) firsthand.
"Dasan Thought in Daily Life" is a unique educational program exclusive to Gangbuk-gu, jointly operated by the excellent faculty of the university and the Lifelong Education Center of Seoul Cyber University to provide residents with professional and high-quality education.
Based on the life and Silhak (Practical Learning) philosophy of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, a representative thinker and reformer of the late Joseon Dynasty, it offers an opportunity to cultivate wisdom for adapting to rapidly changing society and expertise in various fields such as daily life, economy, and literature.
Anyone who is a resident of Gangbuk-gu or operates a business located in the district can enroll. The tuition fee is 30,000 KRW, and applications can be made through the district website’s "Integrated Reservation Application." For further information, inquiries can be directed to the District Office Education Support Division or the Lifelong Education Center of Seoul Cyber University.
