Drink International Launches Renewed Whiskey 'Imperial Black'
Drink International announced on the 29th that it will newly renew and launch the whiskey ‘Imperial Black’.
The renewed ‘Imperial Black 12’ and ‘Imperial Black 17’ catch the eye with a chic and deep black color wrapping the entire bottle, and consistently apply Imperial’s unique modern diamond angle cutting. In addition, the product name ‘BLACK’ and the aging period, which can be said to be a distinctive feature of Imperial’s low-alcohol whiskey, are emphasized at the top, making ‘BLACK 12’ & ‘BLACK 17’ strongly and clearly recognizable.
Unlike most domestic low-alcohol whiskeys that are non-age statement products without aging period indication, Imperial Black is a low-alcohol whiskey based on blended Scotch whiskies aged for at least 12 and 17 years. It maintains the deep taste and aroma of oak barrel aging given by the highly aged raw material while lowering the alcohol content, allowing for a much smoother and more comfortable enjoyment.
Primarily using malt whiskey from the Speyside region of Scotland, it was blended directly by Sandy Hislop, the master blender of Chivas Brothers, completing a rich flavor with a clean and smooth taste. Chivas Brothers is a global liquor company producing and selling famous Scotch whiskies such as Ballantine’s, Royal Salute, and Chivas Regal. Imperial Black is 100% responsible for the entire process from raw material production to blending and bottling at Chivas Brothers.
Imperial Black 12 uses Scotch whiskey raw material aged for at least 12 years, offering flavors of sweet red apple, ripe pear, and light floral notes. Imperial Black 17, aged for over 17 years, delivers well-ripened plum aroma from the oak barrels, with caramel and vanilla flavors that last long and leave a lingering finish.
Through this renewal, Imperial has completed a portfolio that can attract various consumer groups with the ‘Classic Line 12, 17, 19, 21’ containing authentic Scotch whiskey with 40% alcohol in clear bottles, and the ‘Black Line 12, 17, 35 by Imperial’ containing smooth low-alcohol whiskey in black bottles.
