The rally, hosted by the "National Tokyo Electric Power Company Marine Discharge Opposition National Action Executive Committee," which consists of over 300 organizations nationwide including Japanese civic groups, political parties, and labor unions, was attended by Emi Kaneko, representative of the Fukushima branch of Japan's main opposition party, the Constitutional Democratic Party; Mizuho Fukushima, leader of the Social Democratic Party; Akira Koike, secretary-general of the Communist Party; and local fishermen.
Woo Won-shik, chairman of the Democratic Party's countermeasures committee, said at the rally, "Although the Yoon Suk-yeol administration appears to support the Kishida Japanese government's marine dumping, the vast majority of Korean citizens clearly oppose it," adding, "Yesterday afternoon, more than 50,000 citizens in Seoul also raised their voices against the wastewater dumping."

Kang Eun-mi of the Justice Party stated, "The Fukushima wastewater marine dumping has caused harm not only to Fukushima fishermen and citizens but also to all fishermen and citizens of Japan and Korea," urging, "Let Korean and Japanese citizens unite to stop the marine dumping of contaminated water as soon as possible."
