Pohang Sarang Gift Certificates, Establishing Distribution Order... Special Inspection on Illegal Distribution
Special Inspection on Illegal Distribution from August 30 to September 8 to Establish Sound Distribution Order
Fraudulent Receipt, Exchange, and Payment Refusal by Gift Certificate Users, Franchisees, and Sales Agencies
Pohang City will conduct a special inspection on illegal distribution of the Pohang Sarang Gift Certificate for 10 days from the 30th of this month to the 8th of next month to establish a sound distribution order.
This inspection is carried out by selecting eight local governments nationwide, comprehensively considering the sales amount and sales ratio of paper-type gift certificates and the cumulative number of illegal exchange detections by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
Accordingly, the city plans to establish a sound distribution order by operating a resident reporting center and monitoring the gift certificate illegal distribution prevention system, conducting prior analysis of users, affiliated stores, and sales (exchange) agencies suspected of illegal distribution, and forming two joint inspection teams to conduct on-site inspections and telephone and written confirmations simultaneously.
The main inspection items include ▲ receiving or exchanging gift certificates without selling goods or providing services ▲ receiving or exchanging gift certificates through transactions exceeding actual sales amounts ▲ affiliated stores operating in restricted business sectors ▲ refusal to accept gift certificate payments ▲ treating gift certificate payments less favorably compared to other payment methods ▲ unregistered affiliated stores, temporarily closed or closed affiliated stores, etc.
If caught engaging in illegal distribution activities, administrative measures such as on-site guidance and cancellation of affiliated store registration may be imposed according to relevant laws, along with fines of up to 20 million KRW. In cases suspected of serious illegal distribution, the police will be requested to investigate.
