Boseong Cultural Center Wins Grand Prize at the 'Korea Cultural Center Awards'

Presidential Award in Comprehensive Management Category

Boseong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 22nd that the Boseong Cultural Center won the Grand Prize (Presidential Award) in the ‘2023 Korea Cultural Center Awards’ organized by the Korea Federation of Cultural Centers, which involved 231 cultural centers nationwide.

The Korea Cultural Center Awards are given to honor cultural centers that have made significant contributions to the development of local culture.

Boseong Cultural Center received the Grand Prize in the comprehensive management category, and the award ceremony is scheduled to be held at the National Cultural Centers Day celebration in October.

Boseong Cultural Center earned the honor of the Grand Prize after a five-month process including the first round of document screening, the second round of presentations, the third round of on-site evaluations, and a final two-week public verification, assessing the scale of cultural center operations, program quality, and contributions to local cultural development.

Kim Hyunjin, director of Boseong Cultural Center, said, “Since the opening of Boseong Cultural Center in 1967, following the receipt of the National Best Cultural Center Award in October 2019, we have now received the Presidential Award this year. We will continue to do our best to preserve local culture and enable residents to enjoy diverse cultural activities as the nation’s leading cultural center.”

A representative from Boseong County stated, “We believe this achievement was made possible by the interest and love of 40,000 Boseong residents and the active participation and support of the members of Boseong Cultural Center.” He added, “We will continue to provide unwavering support for culture.”

Meanwhile, Boseong Cultural Center is dedicated to the development of local culture by promoting projects such as the Seopyeonje Boseong Sori Festival, preservation of local cultural heritage sites, publication of Boseong local history, and support for local cultural development activities.
