Imsil-gun Announces Naming Contest for 'Companion Animal Support Center' Until the 12th of Next Month
On the 25th, Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced a contest to name the Pet Support Center to be established in the Osu Uigyeon Tourist Area.
The Pet Support Center is a project promoted in the Osu Uigyeon Tourist Area with a total budget of 8 billion KRW, including provincial and county funds, to create a mature cultural space where people and pets can communicate.
Imsil County is accepting name suggestions for the "Companion Animal Support Center" until the 12th of next month.

The Pet Support Center, scheduled to be completed next month, will consist of a pet culture exhibition hall, Uigyeon promotion center, education room, pet bathhouse, pet cafe, and more.
Anyone can participate in this contest by downloading the application form from the county office website and submitting it via email by the 12th of next month.
The county plans to select the winning entry based on symbolism, originality, and popularity. The top winner will receive Onnuri gift certificates worth 600,000 KRW, and two runners-up will each receive Onnuri gift certificates worth 200,000 KRW.
The county is currently developing Osu-myeon, centered on the Osu Uigyeon Tourist Area, into a nationwide pet mecca.
In particular, it is accelerating the World Famous Dog Theme Land project, a key initiative of the 8th local government administration.
The World Famous Dog Theme Land project is a core pledge of the 8th local government administration, investing a total of 18 billion KRW by 2026 to create a pet-friendly complex tourism space where visitors can experience, view exhibitions, shop, and stay with their pets.
The county is investing a total of 7 billion KRW by next year to renovate the Osu Uigyeon Tourist Area and is also creating a pet-friendly camping site.
Additionally, it is promoting the attraction of pet-related companies by establishing a pet-specialized complex in the Osu 2nd Agricultural and Industrial Complex and is carrying out a 21.7 billion KRW Osu District urban regeneration revitalization project themed around a pet-friendly city.
County Governor Shim Min said, “The Imsil-gun Pet Support Center will lead the improvement of awareness about pets and the creation of a new culture,” and added, “We ask for many original and creative name submissions.”
He continued, “We will steadily promote projects such as the World Famous Dog Theme Land to make Osu-myeon the best pet tourism destination in Korea.”
