60s Misdemeanor Punished for Distributing 'Julie Flyers' During Food Delivery
A man in his 60s who distributed leaflets defaming Mrs. Kim Geon-hee during a food delivery was sentenced to a fine.
According to the legal community on the 25th, Judge Song Hye-young of the Criminal Division 6 at the Seoul Northern District Court sentenced Mr. A, who was indicted on charges of trespassing and violating the Minor Offenses Act, to a fine of 100,000 won on the 10th. The court ruled that Mr. A's charges fall under the 'unauthorized posting of advertisements' category of the Minor Offenses Act.
On July 25 of last year, Mr. A delivered a salad to the 12th floor of an officetel in Dobong-gu, Seoul, and while descending the stairs to the 2nd floor, he distributed 59 A4-sized leaflets containing allegations related to so-called 'Julie' in front of each unit's door on every floor.

He was acquitted of the trespassing charge. The court explained the ruling by stating, "It appears that the defendant had no intention to intrude into the building to disturb the actual peace of the residents," and "It is unclear whether the actual peace of residence of the officetel residents was disturbed."
