Seoul Urban Expressway Website Provides 'Map for Color Vision Deficiency'
Seoul Facilities Corporation announced on the 25th that it will create and provide a color vision deficiency-friendly map on the Seoul Urban Expressway website.
A color vision deficiency-friendly map is a map created by converting colors so that people with color vision deficiency can easily distinguish them, even though the original map is expressed in various colors. For example, maps expressed in colors such as red and green, which appear similar to those with color vision deficiency, are improved by adjusting saturation and brightness.
The corporation expressed colors such as ‘Smooth,’ ‘Slow,’ and ‘Congestion’ by distinguishing brightness and saturation so that people with color vision deficiency, who find it difficult to perceive subtle color differences, can clearly identify traffic conditions. Additionally, a separate banner was created at the top right corner of the general map screen to enhance user convenience. Users can access this feature by clicking the ‘Color Vision Deficiency-Friendly’ banner on the respective corner maps after visiting the Seoul Urban Expressway website.
The corporation provides color vision deficiency-friendly maps for nine maps on the Seoul Urban Expressway website, including ‘Urban Expressway,’ ‘Namsan Area,’ ‘Capital Area,’ ‘Current Traffic Conditions,’ ‘Unexpected Situations,’ ‘Control Information,’ ‘Congestion Forecast Map,’ ‘Peak Hour Forecast,’ and ‘Holiday Congestion Forecast.’
