Jangseong-gun to Implement 'Youth Allowance Support Project' Starting October
The ‘Youth Allowance Support Project,’ a youth welfare pledge of the 8th term of the civilian government in Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, is scheduled to be fully implemented starting this October.
On the 24th, the county announced plans to provide voucher points once a year to youths aged 9 to 18 who have their residence registered in Jangseong.

Youths aged 9 to 13 will receive points worth 70,000 KRW, and those aged 14 to 18 will receive points worth 100,000 KRW, which will be loaded onto the ‘Youth Dream Voucher Card’ and distributed.
The points can be used like cash at stationery stores, optical shops, school uniform stores, bookstores, study rooms, and academies in arts and physical education fields.
However, payments are restricted at academies related to entrance exam subjects such as Korean, English, and Mathematics.
The county has been focusing administrative efforts on the early introduction of the youth allowance.
Following the completion of consultations with the Ministry of Health and Welfare on establishing the social security system in March, the county enacted the ‘Ordinance on Supporting the Jangseong-gun Youth Dream Voucher’ in June.
The county is currently accelerating the system construction work to ensure smooth use of the voucher card.
Ahead of the introduction of the youth allowance, the county will recruit ‘Youth Dream Voucher Card’ affiliated stores from the 25th of this month until the 15th of next month.
The target businesses are those suitable for supporting youth life, career development, and cultural and sports activities.
Stores wishing to register should visit the administrative welfare center in their business location with a copy of their business registration certificate, a bankbook copy under the representative’s name, and an ID card to apply.
When filling out the application, information about the card terminal (VAN company name, contact information) is required, so it is recommended to take a photo of the terminal with a mobile phone.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the county office’s Family Happiness Division or the eup/myeon administrative welfare centers.
County Governor Kim Han-jong said, “With the introduction of the youth allowance, about 3,000 youths in the region will be able to benefit from voucher points. We will implement this project thoroughly to help youths with their self-development.”
