Tae Yong-ho: "Kim Jong-un Will Continue Launches Even After Third Failure"
North Korea officially announced that its second military reconnaissance satellite launched on the 24th failed, while predicting a third launch in October. Tae Young-ho, a member of the People Power Party, forecasted, "Kim Jong-un, the General Secretary of the Workers' Party, will continue with the fourth and fifth launches even if the third launch fails."
On the 24th, Tae said on his social media, "This is because, due to severe food shortages and economic difficulties, the only thing they can rely on is military weapons."

Tae stated, "Every time the military reconnaissance satellite launch fails, Kim Jong-un's leadership will continue to be damaged," adding, "The more this happens, the more likely it is that North Korea will strengthen its control over residents and internal purges, accelerating public discontent."
As evidence, he pointed to the appearance of riot control units at the recent military parade. Tae said, "At this parade, a riot control unit appeared to 'mercilessly crush the vicious uprisings of all class enemies who seek to undermine the socialist system and our unity.' The National Intelligence Service recently reported that large-scale and organized crimes, such as the throwing of homemade bombs, are occurring in North Korea," explaining, "Kim Jong-un does not hesitate to use harsh language even against officials 20 to 30 years his senior."
He added, "We must also watch for the possibility of a popular uprising caused by the collapse of North Korea's livelihood."
On the same day at around 6:15 a.m., the Korean Central News Agency reported, "At the Seohae Satellite Launching Station in Cholsan County, North Pyongan Province, the reconnaissance satellite 'Manlilyeong-1' was loaded onto the new satellite carrier rocket 'Chollima-1' and the second launch was carried out," stating that the launch failed due to a system error during the third stage of flight.

Tae said, "This time, the rocket flew normally until the separation of the first and second stages, but a problem occurred during the third stage separation flight, causing the launch vehicle to crash. This shows technical progress compared to the first launch, which failed due to rocket propulsion issues," adding, "Accordingly, there will be more attention than ever on whether the third launch, scheduled by North Korea in October, will succeed."
