Seoul Jung-gu Council Visits Eulji Exercise Situation Room and Infantry 218th Brigade 2nd Battalion to Encourage Participants
On the 23rd, during the Eulji Exercise period, Gil Ki-young, Chairman of Seoul Jung-gu Council, Vice Chairman Yoon Pan-oh, Chairwoman of the Council Operations Committee Lee Jung-mi, Chairman of the Administration and Health Committee Song Jae-chun, and Chairwoman of the Welfare and Construction Committee Jo Mi-jung visited the Jung-gu Office Eulji Exercise Situation Room and the Infantry 218th Brigade 2nd Battalion to encourage the participants.
The 2023 Eulji Exercise, conducted nationwide from the 21st to the 24th over three nights and four days under the name "Eulji Freedom Shield," is linked with the Korea-U.S. joint military exercises. It involves emergency mobilization to verify public officials' wartime mission capabilities and conducts integrated response drills among the military, government, and public institutions by creating scenarios similar to actual wartime situations.
On this day, the council members visited the underground joint situation room at the district office to observe the Eulji Exercise training status, delivered consolation goods to the situation room staff, and offered words of encouragement.
They then visited the Infantry 218th Brigade 2nd Battalion located in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, to encourage the soldiers participating in the Eulji Exercise and delivered encouragement supplies.
The council members exchanged opinions with military officials of the 218th Brigade on cooperation measures among civilians, government, and military to establish a comprehensive local security defense system and listened to the emergency preparedness training situation.
