Building on this event, the city plans to develop differentiated nighttime tourism content alongside existing specialized nighttime tourist attractions such as Yeosu Night Sea, romantic street food stalls, and busking, aiming to leap forward as an international nighttime tourism healing city.
On the first day, the 22nd, the forum was held at the Ramada Hotel, where nighttime tourism experts from the public, private, and academic sectors, online and offline travel writers, the Yeosu City Tourism Council, the Yeosu Tourism MICE Association, and the Yeosu Travel Industry Association participated to share diverse opinions and engage in in-depth discussions on creating a specialized nighttime tourism city.
In particular, the keynote presentations by Yoon Young-sook, team leader of Daejeon Tourism Corporation, titled ‘Specialized Nighttime Tourism City, Daejeon,’ and Jeong Ran-su, CEO of Alternative Tourism Consulting Project, titled ‘Development Plan for Yeosu Specialized Nighttime Tourism City,’ offered numerous suggestions unique to Yeosu’s nighttime tourism, strengthening efforts to establish Yeosu as a specialized nighttime tourism city.
Following this, on the 23rd, participants in the fam tour brainstormed ways to fully enjoy the Yeosu Night Sea along with nighttime landscape lighting through the Yeosu~Goheung Bridge Tour, which is gaining attention as a new tourist attraction on the southern coast.
On the day, Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong of Yeosu said, “Nighttime tourism, which has become a tourism trend bringing enormous economic ripple effects, will be a new growth engine for the region,” adding, “We will carefully review and reflect the proposals from this event, which will serve as a cornerstone for revitalizing nighttime tourism, to create an international ‘nighttime tourism city Yeosu’ without day and night discontinuity.”
