Goheung-gun Opens Era of 1 Trillion Won Budget Since Establishment

Submission of the 2nd Supplementary Budget of 1.0101 Trillion Won to the County Council

Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Yeong-min) announced on the 23rd that it has prepared the 2nd supplementary budget for this year at 1.0101 trillion won and submitted it to the county council.

This budget proposal represents an increase of 82 billion won (8.8%) from the 1st supplementary budget of 928.1 billion won, marking the first time since the county's establishment that the annual budget has surpassed 1 trillion won, ushering in the era of a 1 trillion won budget. The general account increased by 76.4 billion won to 993.3 billion won compared to the original budget, and the special account increased by 5.6 billion won to 16.8 billion won.

A county official stated, "The fact that this is the first time since the county's establishment that a 1 trillion won budget has been prepared is the result of Governor Gong Yeong-min and county officials tirelessly visiting the National Assembly and central government departments to secure the maximum amount of national funds through diligent field administration."

In particular, Governor Gong Yeong-min of the 8th elected term, a budget expert from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, fully utilized his capabilities and mobilized his solid network built during his tenure at the Ministry, establishing a close cooperative system. This effort was aimed at securing the maximum national budget to promote Goheung's development and change and to lay the foundation for a population of 100,000 in 10 years.

Governor Gong Yeong-min said, "In line with the era of a 1 trillion won budget, we plan to operate the budget efficiently with a focus on improving the quality of life by building SOC infrastructure, creating quality jobs, and providing welfare services for residents, rather than just external growth that residents can tangibly feel."

Meanwhile, the '2nd supplementary budget (proposal)' submitted by Goheung-gun will be reviewed and approved at the 318th Goheung County Council extraordinary session, which will be held from September 1st next month, and will be finalized on September 7th.
