A Man in His 50s Caught Stealing 3.22 Million Won from ATM at Children's Grand Park
Pretrial Detention Warrant Application Scheduled
A man who damaged an ATM at Children's Grand Park and stole money was caught by the police.
On the 23rd, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of special theft and are currently investigating him. Mr. A broke the ATM installed next to the amusement park ticket booth inside Children's Grand Park around 2 a.m. on the 20th and stole 3.22 million won before fleeing. The police received a report around 10 a.m. that the bank ATM machine had been damaged and launched an investigation. It was determined that Mr. A arrived at the amusement park around 1:55 a.m. and escaped by jumping over the fence around 6 a.m.

The police analyzed closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and arrested Mr. A at his home in Nowon-gu, Seoul, at 5:35 p.m. the previous day. The stolen cash has not been recovered. Mr. A denied the charges during the first investigation and is scheduled for a second interrogation in the afternoon. A police official stated, "We will focus on proving the criminal charges through extensive investigation and plan to apply for an arrest warrant based on the evidence."
