Ride the Gwangyang City Tour to See the 'Lee Kun-hee Collection'
Special Exhibition of Korean Modern and Contemporary Art at Provincial Art Museum

Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do is attracting attention by suggesting the Gwangyang City Tour as an easy way to visit the Jeollanam-do Provincial Museum of Art’s special exhibition “The Lee Kun-hee Collection: Encounters,” which is drawing interest from art lovers both domestically and internationally.
The history course of the Gwangyang City Tour includes the Jeollanam-do Provincial Museum of Art, where visitors can appreciate over 60 masterpieces by 43 masters of modern and contemporary Korean art, including Kim Whanki, Chun Kyungja, and Park Soo-keun.
The history course, operated only on Wednesdays, departs from Suncheon Station (10:10 AM) and Gwangyang-eup Terminal (10:45 AM), visiting the Jeollanam-do Provincial Museum of Art, Gwangyang Art Warehouse, Inseori Park, Gwangyang History and Culture Center, Gwangyang Jangdo Museum, and Gwangyang Gungsi Training Center, then returns via Gwangyang-eup Terminal (5:05 PM) to arrive at Suncheon Station (5:40 PM).
The fare is 5,000 KRW for general passengers, 4,000 KRW for military personnel, seniors, and students, and 3,000 KRW for persons with disabilities and preschool children. Admission fees, travel insurance, and meals are not included. The tour operates with a minimum reservation of five people at least three days in advance.
Jung Gu-young, Director of Tourism, said, “By joining the Wednesday history course of the Gwangyang City Tour, visitors can comfortably enjoy the Lee Kun-hee Collection, which has created a great response beyond regions and generations.” He added, “In addition to the history course, which offers a glimpse into Gwangyang’s history and craftsmanship spirit, we hope many will show interest and participate in the weekend night view course that presents the beauty of midsummer nights.”
The Jeollanam-do Provincial Museum of Art, built on the site of the old Gwangyang Station, satisfies the cultural needs of residents and strengthens Jeollanam-do’s international status. It has garnered great response from locals by attracting attention from the domestic and international art world with successive large-scale exhibitions such as the “Lee Kun-hee Collection Special Exhibition,” “Leeum Museum of Art Traveling Exhibition,” and the Georges Rouault Exhibition.
