A Man in His 30s Arrested for Posting 'Gangnam Station Stabbing' Warning Using Police Staff Account
A man in his 30s who posted a knife attack threat on an online community under the name of an active police officer has been apprehended.
The Cyber Terror Investigation Unit of the National Police Agency announced on the 22nd at 8:32 a.m. that Mr. A was urgently arrested on charges of intimidation and is currently under investigation.
Mr. A is suspected of posting a message titled "I will carry out a knife attack tonight at Exit 1 of Gangnam Station" on the workplace online community 'Blind' using a police officer account the previous morning.
At the time, Mr. A wrote, "Everyone, watch out lol, I’m going to kill everyone," and the post was immediately deleted. The Blind community requires workplace verification via email or other means to join, and the verified workplace is displayed on posts.

Police investigation confirmed that Mr. A is not a police officer and reportedly stated that he is a company employee. The police plan to investigate how Mr. A gained access to the police officer account and will decide whether to apply for an arrest warrant. A police official stated, "We intend to strictly enforce the law against similar crimes."
