View original imageOn the first day of the Eulji training, June 21, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, inspected its emergency preparedness to protect the lives and property of residents in the event of a national emergency.
At 2 p.m. that day, the district held the ‘Eulji Training Initial Briefing’ at the Smart Integrated Situation Room of the district office, attended by over 60 officials from related organizations including civil, government, military, police, and fire services.
The initial briefing began with a report on the emergency training plan for the Eulji training period, followed by a military situation report from the Army Gangseo-gu Battalion and viewing of a security video.
The nationwide Eulji training is a national crisis management exercise conducted to actively respond to national emergencies such as wartime or incidents, and will be held for three days until June 24.
Accordingly, at 6 a.m. that day, the district issued an emergency call to 1,679 public officials, and with all staff responding, entered an emergency duty system.
To ensure rapid and systematic response capabilities during emergencies, control units, integrated situation rooms, and execution units were organized, and a close cooperative system with related organizations was established to strengthen emergency response readiness.

Park Dae-woo, Acting Mayor of Gangseo-gu, said, “This year, since residents will directly participate in civil defense evacuation drills, we hope the focus will be on the safety of vulnerable groups during movement and the residents’ safety,” adding, “We ask all related organizations to cooperate fully and do their best to protect the safety and lives of our residents.”
