KB Securities Surpasses 50 Trillion WM Assets... Fourfold Growth Since Integrated Corporation Launch
Growth from 12.6 trillion KRW in 2017 to 50.3 trillion KRW
Simultaneous pursuit of quantitative and qualitative growth... Evolving into a comprehensive asset management leader
KB Securities announced on the 21st that its Wealth Management (WM) assets have surpassed 50 trillion KRW.
This is the result of continuously implementing the 'WM Transformation' strategy, which offers products tailored to market conditions such as market-type funds, bonds, and Wraps, since the launch of the integrated corporation in 2017. It represents approximately a fourfold growth compared to the WM asset size of 12.6 trillion KRW at the beginning of 2017 when the integrated corporation was established.
The qualitative growth of WM assets was also confirmed through the increasing trend of WM individual customer assets. KB Securities' WM individual customer assets increased from 11.6 trillion KRW at the end of 2021 to 15.6 trillion KRW at the end of 2022, and further to 19.1 trillion KRW in early August 2023, showing an expanding growth rate.
A KB Securities official stated, "We strengthened customers' investment portfolios by supplying various products not only retail bonds but also funds, Wraps, and Equity-Linked Securities (ELS) to individual customers. This appears to be the result of continuously providing customers with more diverse services and events, such as subscription events for brokerage-type Individual Savings Accounts (ISA) reflecting customer demand and pension product events."
Since the launch of the integrated corporation in 2017, KB Securities has maintained its strength in the traditionally competitive brokerage sector while making various efforts to strengthen the WM division, including launching products reflecting customer demand and establishing the GWS (GOLD&WISE SUMMIT) headquarters.
First, KB Securities launched WM products by reflecting the opinions of sales branches, which contain customer demand, as much as possible through regular weekly and monthly WM strategy meetings to enable organic collaboration between sales branches and WM product-related departments.
Additionally, KB Securities established the GWS headquarters, a dedicated organization for ultra-high-net-worth customer asset management, providing total asset management services such as tax, real estate, and business succession. Furthermore, it has continuously expanded financial centers, which have become landmarks in key regional hubs, solidifying KB Securities' unique identity. The company also continued to advance the 'Able Partner' (ODS exclusive system) to build infrastructure that allows consultations anytime and anywhere customers desire.
Efforts to enhance the capabilities of Private Banker (PB) employees have also been steadily carried out. To spread customer-friendly WM sales within the company, outstanding PB employees within each regional headquarters were selected as mentors for PB staff, activating the 'WM Leader Group' centered on mentor-mentee activities. Additionally, annual training programs on customer communication skills, product consulting, and portfolio sales are operated to strengthen PB employees' capabilities.
Moreover, KB Securities strengthens communication with customers by providing various investment content such as asset management seminars, Young Rich seminars, and seminars linked to art and music concerts. The company plans to develop more diverse content in the future to enable more customers to participate and be satisfied.
