Eunpyeong-gu, Secure Security in Eunpyeong, 2023 Eulji Exercise
Four days from the 21st, including nationwide civil defense evacuation drills and wartime preparedness exercises
Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) will conduct the '2023 Eulji Exercise' for four days from the 21st to the 24th.
Marking its 55th year, the Eulji Exercise is conducted to comprehensively verify national crisis management and total war response capabilities in preparation for a national emergency.
During the Eulji Exercise period, Eunpyeong-gu will carry out training to enhance public officials' ability to respond to national emergencies, including emergency assembly drills for public officials, wartime organizational formation training, establishment and operation of wartime organizations, administrative agency dispersal and relocation drills, discussions on wartime issues, civil defense evacuation drills, and message tabletop exercises.
On the second day of the Eulji Exercise, a counter-terrorism drill for multi-use facilities will be conducted at Seonil Big Data High School in the district. The drill plans to thoroughly check the organic response system in emergencies through integrated training with residents and related organizations such as government, military, police, and fire departments.
Especially on the third day, the 23rd, a civil defense evacuation drill will be conducted for all citizens. When the air raid alarm sounds at 2 p.m., people must evacuate to the nearest civil defense shelter. Safety management personnel will be stationed at each shelter entrance, and educational promotional materials on emergency behavior guidelines will be distributed. Additionally, at Yeonsinnae Station, operated as a model civil defense shelter in Eunpyeong-gu, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training will be provided.
Nearby civil defense shelters can be found on the National Disaster Safety Portal website and the Safe Step app. They can also be checked by searching for ‘civil defense shelter’ on KakaoMap, Naver Map, T Map, and other platforms.
During the Eulji Exercise period, a Korean War security photo exhibition will be held on the first-floor lobby of Eunpyeong-gu Office in cooperation with the Eunpyeong-gu Veterans Association. From 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the 23rd, a military equipment exhibition will be held at the Eunpyeong-gu Office plaza to foster a security and safety consensus among residents.
