Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Son Byeong-bok) conducted the first rice harvesting on the 16th by Im Jong-gwan (59 years old), head of Gwangpum 2-ri, at 43 Gwangpum-ri, Onjeong-myeon.
The first harvested rice variety was the early-maturing ‘Jinokbyae,’ transplanted on May 2. This variety is suitable for early cultivation, has clear grains with excellent appearance, and is known for its superior taste. The rice harvested from approximately 2 hectares will be sold entirely as holiday gifts through contract farming with the local agricultural cooperative.
