Since the launch of Incheon City's 8th term of elected government, the policy that resonated the most was the 'Free toll for local residents on Yeongjong·Incheon Bridge.'
After Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok took office, Incheon City conducted a survey of 10,079 people to gather citizens' opinions on major projects pursued over the past year and reflect them in city administration, and announced the results on the 18th.
When respondents were asked which three of the ten major projects they resonated with the most, the largest number, 5,781 people (19.1%), chose the full toll exemption for local residents on Yeongjong·Incheon Bridge.
Next, the opening of the Incheon-origin KTX in 2025 and the opening of the Seoul Metropolitan Area Express Railway (GTX) Line B in 2030 were chosen by 4,077 people (13.5%), followed by the systematic maintenance of political party banners with 3,179 people (10.5%). Additionally, the expansion of Incheon City’s public daycare centers was supported by 3,137 people (10.4%), special support for infertility treatment costs and heating expenses for vulnerable groups by 3,128 people (10.3%), and the opening of the Overseas Korean Affairs Office by 2,779 people (9.2%) also received significant support.
The administrative system reorganization into Jemulpo-gu·Yeongjong-gu and Seo-gu·Geomdan-gu (1,548 cases, 5.1%) and the construction of the National World Script and Maritime Museum (1,471 cases, 4.9%) attracted relatively more interest from local citizens closely related to these projects.
