Kakao Mobility Hosts 2nd Tech Conference 'NEMO 2023'
Kakao Mobility announced on the 18th that it will hold the 2nd Tech Conference, ‘NEXT MOBILITY: NEMO 2023 (hereinafter NEMO 2023),’ on September 8 at the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas. This event will be held simultaneously online and offline.
‘NEXT MOBILITY: NEMO’ is a tech conference where Kakao Mobility showcases its technological capabilities while presenting a partnership-based vision for the mobility industry together with its partners. IT technology opinion leaders participate to share know-how and insights.
Through NEMO 2023, Kakao Mobility will define the new role platforms will have amid the paradigm shift in daily life brought about by AI technology under the subtitle, ‘The Era of AI Transformation - The Infinite Possibilities of Platforms.’ The event will reexamine the value embedded in AI technology and data and introduce Kakao Mobility platform’s unique vision.
Participants in NEMO 2023 include not only Kakao Mobility but also global corporations such as Google, Grab, and LG, as well as tech startups like Kakao Brain, Studio Galilei, and WashSwat. Researchers from the Korea Transport Institute and the Department of Electronic Engineering at Hanyang University will also join to explore the convergence of mobility technologies and industry changes from diverse perspectives across the public, private, and academic sectors.
The event will begin with a welcome speech by Ryu Geung-seon, CEO of Kakao Mobility. Following this, keynote speeches and panel discussions will feature three domestic and international AI technology opinion leaders who have led the advancement of AI-based mobility technology in Korea: Yoo Seung-il, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Kakao Mobility; Oliver Ratzesberger, Vice President of AI and Data Technology for Google Asia Pacific; and Kim Il-doo, CEO of Kakao Brain.
A comprehensive technical session covering AI-based mobility IT technology will also be held. There will be a total of 24 presentations under three themes: ‘Life Changing with AI (LIFE),’ which introduces cases of digital transformation (DX) through platforms that have innovated the existing mobility industry; ‘Technology Advancing with AI (TECH),’ showcasing Kakao Mobility’s proprietary technologies enhanced by AI; and ‘Future Moving with AI (FUTURE),’ which presents a blueprint for AI technology operations planned for future mobility services.
An exhibition hall where visitors can directly experience AI-integrated mobility technologies will also be operated. It will feature ‘AI Lab,’ introducing future mobility services realized through AI technology; ‘Mobility Atlas,’ visualizing big data analysis technology; and screen videos showcasing the operation of future mobility technologies such as autonomous driving, UAM, and robots.
At AI Lab, various types of ‘Mobile Mapping Systems (MMS)’ that create digital twins through spatiotemporal synchronization technology covering both ground and air, as well as a ‘UAM vehicle mockup,’ will be exhibited. Through this, Kakao Mobility will visualize the connectivity between ‘mobility big data - future mobility services - AI technology’ based on its MMS technology and digital twin construction know-how.
