Park Kang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, announced on the afternoon of the 17th that Park Bo-gyun, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, visited Mapo-gu to receive a report on the progress of Jamboree support and offered encouragement.
Mapo-gu immediately convened nine related departments, including the Administrative Support Division, Citizen Safety Division, and Tourism Policy Division, to form a ‘Special Task Force for Jamboree Support’ for the Jamboree participants who returned early. They arranged accommodations and transportation and provided various cultural and sports programs such as the Hongdae Red Road busking, fusion gugak (traditional Korean music) performances, b-boy performances, and K-Nori (K-play) sports events.
Additionally, Mayor Park Kang-su held an emergency safety support meeting as the Jamboree closing ceremony and K-pop concert were held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, focusing all efforts on safety, including on-site inspections of the performance facilities and medical support.
Minister Park Bo-gyun encouraged, “The successful and accident-free conclusion of the Jamboree journey was achieved through the leadership of Mayor Park Kang-su and the efforts of Mapo-gu staff. In particular, preparing the Hongdae Red Road busking performance in such a short time was truly amazing and moving, and I would like to once again express my gratitude to Mapo-gu for safely concluding the closing ceremony.”
