Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Appoints Kim Young-rae, Ministry of Education Secretary, as New Auditor

The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Lee Jeong-seon) announced on the 17th that Kim Young-rae will be appointed as the new Auditor effective September 1.
As a result of the open recruitment for the Auditor position, equivalent to Grade 3, at the Gwangju Office of Education, 15 experts from national institutions, local governments, and police agencies applied.
After the document screening and interview evaluation, Kim Young-rae was finally selected as the new Auditor.
He began his public service career in 2001 at the Jeonbuk Jeongeup Office of Education, transferred to the Ministry of Education in 2007, served as a manager in the Private School Affairs Office and the Operations Support Division, and has been working as a senior officer in charge of private university audits at the Ministry of Education's Private School Audit Office since August 2021.

New Auditor Kim Young-rae stated, “To realize innovative inclusive education, we will respect the autonomy of institutions at all levels to the fullest extent and take strict measures against serious misconduct such as accounting fraud, abuse of power, and sexual misconduct that could undermine trust in education policies and their outcomes.” He added, “I will do my best to achieve a clean Gwangju education that meets the expectations of citizens.”
