Jindo-gun Achieves Double Victory in Exemplary Active Administration Cases... Wins Grand Prize and Excellence Award

Jindo County won the grand prize and excellence award at the ‘2023 First Half Active Administration Best Practice Competition’ hosted by Jeollanam-do.

According to the county on the 17th, Jeollanam-do holds the Active Administration Best Practice Competition twice a year, in the first and second halves, to discover exemplary cases of active administration and realize active administration that residents can feel.

Starting the first half contest last month, a total of 15 cases were selected in the first preliminary round, and after online public voting through ‘On Gukmin Sotong’ and presentation evaluations, 11 outstanding cases were chosen.

Jindo County took first place in this competition with the case titled ‘Jindo Green Onion, Jeollanam-do’s Representative Agricultural Product, Captivates Consumers Nationwide (Agricultural and Marine Products Distribution Division).’

The Jindo County Agricultural and Marine Products Distribution Division, established in January 2023, revitalized the struggling green onion farms by expanding sales channels for Jindo’s agricultural and marine products and collaborating with major distributors to launch products such as △McDonald’s Jindo Green Onion Burger △CU Convenience Store’s Green Onion Ready Meals.

In particular, the Jindo Green Onion Burger released by McDonald’s not only raised the status of Jindo green onions through CF commercials but also gained great recognition for contributing to enhancing Jindo’s image by featuring Jindo’s hearty dialect, lively culture, and the cuteness of the Jindo dog, which became a hot topic.

Additionally, the case that won the excellence award in this competition, ‘All Information of Jindo County in the Palm of Your Hand with Just One Smartphone Touch (General Affairs Division),’ contributed to bridging the information gap among residents by unifying the dispersed information of Jindo County through the development of the public app ‘Bobaeseom Sosiktong’ and introducing a smart village broadcasting system accessible anywhere.

It received high praise for its proactiveness in system establishment, including providing personalized on-site education to explain the usage method directly to each resident.

A representative from the Jindo County General Affairs Division stated, “This award is the result of Jindo County’s continuous efforts to prioritize resident satisfaction, induce practical changes in the public service community, and foster an atmosphere of active administration that residents can experience. We will continue to carry out active administration that residents can feel.”
