HiteJinro Invests in Battery Sharing Startup 'Baekpercent'
HiteJinro announced on the 17th that it has invested in the battery sharing service startup 'Baekpercent'. This is the eighth investment this year.
Baekpercent operates the battery sharing service platform 'Chungjeondwaeji'. Chungjeondwaeji currently has 2 million members and holds over 80% market share in the portable battery rental market.
About 10,000 portable battery rental devices have been installed at major hospitals, convenience stores, movie theaters, universities, and restaurants nationwide. In addition, through collaboration with KT Linkers, they plan to increase accessibility by installing additional devices in over 300 public phone booths across the country.
HiteJinro invested in Baekpercent, highly valuing the growing demand for portable battery charging due to the increase in personal electronic devices such as mobiles, tablets, electronic cigarettes, and earphones, as well as the contribution to carbon reduction through battery recycling.
