Up to 45,000 KRW Monthly Refund... Busan Launches 'Dongbaek Pass' Promotion Campaign
"Urban rail, city buses, village buses, light rail, Donghae Line?no matter what you take, all are refundable!"
On the 17th at 7:50 a.m., Busan City will simultaneously launch a 'Dongbaek Pass' promotional campaign at 60 locations across the city, including near Seomyeon Intersection.
The 'Dongbaek Pass,' the first of its kind nationwide, refunds up to 90,000 KRW per month in Dongbaek Points for usage exceeding 45,000 KRW monthly on buses (city buses and village buses) registered in Busan, urban rail, light rail, and the Donghae Line. The maximum refund amount is 45,000 KRW.
This campaign was organized to provide accurate information about the 'Dongbaek Pass' and to focus on promoting the benefits to citizens, in collaboration with 16 districts and counties, transportation-related organizations, Busan Bank, and other related groups.
The campaign will be held at a total of 60 locations, including four urban rail transfer stations with high public transportation usage (Seomyeon, Dongnae, Yeonsan, Suyeong), Anrak Intersection, Busan Station, Busan Citizens Park, 16 districts and counties, and 39 major branches of Busan Bank.
At the Seomyeon Station gathering campaign, about 200 employees from Busan City, Busan Transportation Corporation, Busan City Bus Association, Busan Village Bus Association, and Busan Bank will participate. Additionally, around 400 people will support key events at 16 districts and counties, major urban rail transfer stations, and 39 Busan Bank branches.
Since the 'Dongbaek Pass' is the first integrated public transportation discount system implemented nationwide, the city considers citizen promotion to be the most important. To ensure stable operation and achieve usage goals, customized citizen promotion has been actively underway since July.
First, promotional leaflets have been placed in city and district (county) civil service offices, and voice announcements are being made using urban rail (light rail) stations, city (village) buses, and public institution broadcasting facilities.
Offline promotions include displaying 30-second promotional videos on bus information displays and urban rail station destination guides, as well as large posters at bus shelters. Online channels such as Bada TV, Busan City’s blog and website, Facebook, and Instagram are also being actively utilized.
Furthermore, to provide citizen-tailored promotion in daily life, the city plans to widely publicize the Dongbaek Pass by broadcasting videos on 2,277 elevator TV monitors in major apartment complexes and posting notices and banners.
Comedian Kim Junho, appointed as the Dongbaek Pass promotional ambassador on July 28, shared that he is planning a Dongbaek Pass program linked to the 'Busan International Comedy Festival' scheduled from August 25 to September 3.
Busan Bank also announced plans to focus on increasing Dongbaek Pass subscriptions by operating three mobile stores near major universities and posting banners at main gates and intersections to provide customized promotion targeting university students, who are major users of public transportation, in line with the September university semester start.
